About Elmwood Park Softball

Established in 1971, the Elmwood Park, NJ recreation softball program boasts a storied history that mirrors the town's commitment to community and sportsmanship. For over five decades, this program has been a cornerstone of athletic culture, nurturing generations of softball enthusiasts.

From its humble beginnings, the program has grown into a flourishing institution that has not only provided a platform for athletic development but has also woven a tapestry of memories and camaraderie. Over the years, countless players have donned the Elmwood Park colors, leaving an indelible mark on the town's sporting legacy.

Today, the program stands as a dynamic hub of activity, offering teams at various levels to cater to every age group and skill level:

  • Kindergarten through 2nd Grade. This level is designed for Kindergartners through second graders who might be first-timers and is the perfect way to establish your daughter's passion for the game. Players at this level are introduced to the sport with non-competitive activities focused on fun, fitness and fundamentals. Games are structured with Coaches pitching and/or hitting off the tee. Fielding and making errors are all part of the fun as well as making new friends on the field! Softee "training" softballs are used to keep players safe.
  • 3rd and 4th grade
  • 5th and 6th grade
  • 7th, 8th, and 9th grade

These teams not only provide a platform for skill development but also foster a sense of camaraderie and sportsmanship among players. The program's founders set the stage for a tradition that has evolved into a thriving community, united by the love of softball. As Elmwood Park recreation softball continues to inspire and shape the character of new generations, it remains a living testament to the enduring power of sports in bringing people together.
