New Coaches:
You must complete a Rutgers Coaching and Safety Course, which can be conducted via Zoom. You can register for the course here: https://youthsports.rutgers.edu/courses/list/
The cost of the course is $40, which is reimburseable. Please send your completed certificate to Pam@EPsoftball.com for your reimbursement.
NOTE: If you have taken this course before (even for another sport), you do not need to retake it.
All Coaches (new and existing):
New in 2025, we no longer need yearly fingerprinting done, however the Borough began to utilize a new background check system for ALL volunteer coaches, Protect Youth Sports.
It is completely virtual, and there is no upfront cost to the coaches. All coaches must complete this each year.
Here are the steps to getting your certification:
- You can fill your application out here: https://opportunities.averity.com/opportunity/82227
- Once you have filled out the application, an email from the screening company will be sent to you for a brief online course to be completed. Note: The email may arrive in 1-2 business days.
- Upon completion of the course, you will be issued a certificate. Please email that certificate to pam@epsoftball.com
