Coaches

Welcome to our softball coaching hub! Your one-stop destination for coaching resources, forms, and support.

New Coaches:

You must complete a Rutgers Coaching and Safety Course, which is a 90-minute seminar hosted at our recreation facility. We will alert you when the date of the course is for this season. The course is free and only needs to be taken once. If you have taken this course before (even for another sport), you do not need to retake it.  We will alert you when the course is being offered for the 2025 season.

All Coaches (new and existing):

New in 2025, we no longer need yearly fingerprinting done, however the Borough began to utilize a new background check system for ALL volunteer coaches, Protect Youth Sports.

It is completely virtual, and there is no upfront cost to the coaches. The new system will automatically re-screen the individual after 1 year.

Here are the steps to getting your certification:

  1. You can fill your application out here:  https://opportunities.averity.com/opportunity/82227
  2. Once you have filled out the application, an email from the screening company will be sent to you for a brief online course to be completed. Note: The email may arrive in 1-2 business days. 
  3. Upon completion of the course, you will be issued a certificate.  Please email that certificate to [email protected]
