THE NEXT CHAPTER
STARTS HERE.
Introducing the new
EP Softball Development & Travel Program.
More opportunities. More development. More teamwork.
One exciting future for our girls.
We're Building Something Special.
As our softball community continues to grow,
we're creating more opportunities for our players
to develop their skills, build confidence, form
lasting friendships, and take their love of the
game to the next level.
Our new Development & Travel Program is about
much more than assembling a summer team.
It's about establishing a strong foundation
for long-term player and team development.
Player Development
Building fundamentals, softball knowledge,
individual skills, and confidence through
consistent, structured training.
Team Chemistry
Helping players develop friendships,
build trust, communicate effectively,
and grow together as teammates.
Consistency & Growth
Establishing a core group that can
continue developing together, rather
than starting over every season.
Competitive Opportunities
Friendly games against neighboring town
travel programs, with potential tournament
and additional competition opportunities.
Positive Environment
Promoting sportsmanship, teamwork,
dedication, accountability, and
respect for one another.
Love for the Game
Most importantly, creating a supportive
atmosphere where our girls have fun,
feel proud, and enjoy playing softball.
Our Road to Summer 2027
By selecting our teams early, we can give
players valuable time to develop skills,
build chemistry, and prepare for the
summer season together.
Team Selection & Introduction
Tryouts take place November 14.
Following team selection, we hope
to take advantage of remaining
favorable weather for outdoor
practices and team activities.
The focus is getting to know teammates
and beginning to build chemistry.
Structured Player Development
From January 9 through March 8, we plan
to offer organized winter workouts
focusing on fundamentals, conditioning,
individual improvement, and overall
softball knowledge.
Our goal is to enter spring prepared
and ready to compete.
Outdoor Practices & Team Preparation
As the weather permits, we'll move
outdoors and build on our winter training,
emphasizing game situations, communication,
positional responsibilities, and teamwork.
Games & Competition
Beginning in May, our goal is to schedule
weekend friendly games against other
local town travel teams.
Depending on interest and scheduling,
we'll explore additional competitive
opportunities throughout the summer.
Continuing to Grow Together
Our long-term vision is to maintain
a consistent group of players through
fall and potentially future seasons.
We hope to offer returning players
continuity, with additional tryouts
held as needed to fill available
roster spots.
This is our tentative development plan.
Specific schedules and opportunities are
subject to player interest, facility
availability, weather, and team needs.
Better Players.
Stronger Teams.
Lasting Friendships.
We believe a positive, structured, and
consistent team environment gives every
player an opportunity to grow, both as
an athlete and as a person.
Our goal isn't simply to win games.
It's to develop confident, hardworking
young athletes who support one another,
take pride in their progress, and
develop a lifelong love for softball.
Keeping the Program Accessible
We understand that additional training
and travel opportunities can come with
added expenses. Our goal is to keep this
program as affordable and accessible
as possible for Elmwood Park families.
We plan to explore fundraising opportunities
to help offset costs associated with
winter workouts, seasonal fees, and
other team expenses.
More information will be shared as
the program develops.
Why Are We Doing This?
Because we believe in our girls
and their potential!
Our league is filled with talented,
hardworking young athletes who deserve
opportunities to keep learning, improving,
and challenging themselves.
Just as importantly, we want our girls
to have fun, build lasting friendships,
take pride in their accomplishments,
and create memories they'll carry
with them long after the final inning.
